National Life Group raises over $29k for Wash. Co. domestic and sexual violence resource, Circle

Montpelier, VT - (April 11, 2025) – National Life Group’s Independent Distribution sales team raised over $29,000 for Circle, a shelter and hotline resource for victims of domestic violence in Washington County.

At their annual kickoff meeting, members of the field leadership team staged a friendly competition to support victims of family violence in both Dallas and Vermont, where the company has home offices.

“We aimed to create an engaging, team-building event that also serves a meaningful purpose—raising awareness and providing support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse in Vermont, a cause that matters deeply to us,” Field Executive and VP of Independent Distribution Louis Puglisi said.

Circle serves anyone experiencing intimate partner and/or sexual violence in the Washington County area answering hotline calls, providing confidential shelter, legal advocacy, support groups and community presentations. 

“All the services provided by Circle are free and confidential. Keeping a hotline and a shelter and other support services available 24/7 is expensive. We can only provide these services for free because of donations from groups like National Life,” Circle Co-Director Diane Kinney said. “National Life Group was our first corporate supporter 35 years ago when we purchased our shelter, and we are grateful for their continued support.”

The event also raised a similar donation for The Family Place, one of the largest family violence service providers in Texas.
