National Life Donates $35,000 to Branches of Hope Cancer Patient Fund

Branches of Hope 2021

Montpelier, VT - (April 22, 2021)  National Life recently donated $35,000 to the Branches of Hope cancer patient fund at Central Vermont Medical Center in lieu of holding a Do Good Fest this year.

National Life staged the free annual music festival on its back lawn every year from 2014 to 2019, raising money for Branches of Hope through parking fees. The event was suspended last year and again this summer because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Cancer patients’ needs don’t go away just because there’s a pandemic,” said Mehran Assadi, Chairman, CEO and President of National Life. “So even though it’s too soon to gather on our lawn, it’s always the right time to support our neighbors. We’re humbled that we’re able to do so.”

Branches of Hope is available to patients when they’re going through cancer treatments and can’t cover expenses because they may be out of work. Proceeds from the six years of Do Good Fest celebrations, along with donations this year and last, the festival has raised more than $255,000 for cancer patients.

National Life is here to bring you peace of mind. We’ve been keeping our promises since 1848. Believe in tomorrow. Do good today. Learn more at NationalLife.com
