Montpelier, VT  (July 29, 2015) - The National Life Group Foundation granted $50,000 to Communities in Schools Dallas Region (CISDR) to support the agency's mission to help children stay in school.

The money is targeted to elementary schools that CISDR supports through programs that help parents and guardians understand the importance of education and then reinforce basic principles such as regular attendance.

"We are so deeply grateful for National Life Group's generosity," said Lisa Laughlin, Director of Philanthropy, CISDR. "Due to their loyal partnership in advancing this important mission, the area's most vulnerable school children will receive impactful academic reinforcement ranging from tutoring, home visits; truancy intervention; behavior redirection; parenting education; college/career exploration; enrichment and social services .... and much more."

Laughlin said the grant will help 280 children in the greater Dallas area.

In addition to financial support through its Foundation, the company also has an annual giving tree at the holidays so National Life Group employees can give clothing and toys to vulnerable children identified by CISDR.

"National Life Group's employees are dedicated to the company's corporate values to Do Good in our communities," said Foundation President Beth Rusnock. "We're humbled to support the vital work that CISDR does."
