National Life Group Community Outreach
National Life Group likes to be part of vibrant community events. Each year we partner with non-profits to
sponsor select events throughout Vermont. We realize events help build awareness of organizations and missions,
so we look at event sponsorship as a way to help you grow. We may partially underwrite an event in order to help
grow a non-profit or a specific event. To apply for sponsorship money please send the following:
- Summary of the event: who, what, where, when, why. This should be no longer than one paragraph.
- Sample event packet: this can be from the previous year or in draft form.
- Sponsorship levels (typically this is included in the event packet, if so, no need to duplicate). If not, please include the following:
- Dollars for various sponsorship levels
- List ways in which the community will know that National Life Group is a sponsor: logo or mention on signs, printed materials or advertising at the event and/or before.
- What organizations sponsored this event last year and/or which organizations are you approaching for sponsorship this year? Since National Life
Group has limited sponsorship dollars we like to see a team approach to sponsorship instead of being the only funding source behind an event.
- Forecasted summary of expenses and income not including sponsorship dollars. Please include major in-kind donations to the event. Example:

Forecasted $1,500 event profit without any sponsorship dollars.
NOTE: Please be realistic. We realize events require many hours of staff and/or volunteer time and that sponsorship dollars can
offset "soft" costs like staff time. The forecasted profit or loss from your event is not the only criteria we consider. It does, however,
reveal planning and risk associated with the event. In the past, we have sponsored events that have forecasted modest profits and even losses (not
including sponsorship dollars). Our goal is to sponsor vibrant events that help move community organizations forward in meaningful ways.
Timing:
You may submit sponsorship requests at any time during the year, however, they need to be submitted at least 2 months before the proposed event. All
five items listed above should be submitted together. A review of your event will not take place until all items have been submitted. Thank you.
