Archive Photographs (above): John A. Green (Cleveland Agency - #040) At 42, Green was twenty years older than the vast bulk of his fellow soldiers.
Within easy reach of German troops, Green was in the front lines and laying
communication wire in northern Italy when an enemy artillery shell landed
nearby and killed him instantly. Green left a young widow and two daughters.
