AMOS SEWELL
(06/07/1901 - 10/??/1983, died in Westport, CT)
Although he lacked formal training as an artist, Sewell was commissioned by
National Life soon after the sudden death of Roy Heinrich. Sewell was a natural
illistrator and differed from Heinrich by using live models for his historic works.
Sewell's works had appeared in such magazines as Saturday Evening Post for many
years before he was commissioned by National Life.
