Gatto Honored as One of New England's Top In-house Lawyers
|
(May 4, 2007) Montpelier, VT — Michele Gatto, general counsel and executive vice president for Corporate Services at National Life Group, has been
named one of the leading in-house lawyers in New England. "Michele is an extraordinary manager," said Jane Sender, a Boston legal recruiter who presented
the award to Gatto at an April 26 banquet in Boston. "She has a real knack for understanding organizational behavior."
The award was made by two legal publications, New England In-House and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and is designed to celebrate
"the accomplishments of corporate counsel who have achieved excellence in their business and community endeavors." A five-member panel of lawyers selected the
15 counsel honorees who were awarded the 2007 In-House Leaders in Law distinction.

she worked for The Paul Revere Corporation and played an integral role in helping to turn around a financially troubled Boston-based insurance carrier, Massachusetts Casualty Insurance Company.
Wayne Budd, former associate U.S. attorney general, gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony, which drew more than 500 people. Also attending were former Massachusetts Governor
Paul Cellucci and former Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly.
