Sentinel Completes Bramwell Acquisition

(March 21, 2006) Sentinel Asset Management, Inc. has announced the introduction of two additions to the Sentinel Fund Family: Sentinel Capital Growth Fund (BRGRX) and Sentinel Growth Leaders Fund (BRFOX), effective immediately.

The two new Funds are successors to the Bramwell Growth and Bramwell Focus Funds, which were launched in 1994 and 1999, respectively, by Elizabeth R. Bramwell, CFA. The reorganization is associated with Sentinel’s acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Bramwell Capital Management, Inc. on March 17.

Both Funds will be managed by Ms. Bramwell, the former CIO and founder of Bramwell, who has joined Sentinel’s Investment Department as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

“This is an extremely exciting development for Sentinel, our financial advisors and their clients,” said Christian W. Thwaites, President and CEO of Sentinel. “Elizabeth and her team bring a wealth of experience and talent with them. Their excellent record and reputation for security selection in the Large Cap Growth category will provide a powerful complement to the strengths of our team of equity investment managers and analysts.”

The distinction between the Funds lies primarily in their degree of diversification. Sentinel Capital Growth Fund seeks long-term growth of capital and, secondarily, current income through investment in a diversified equity portfolio that generally contains 60-90 securities. The Sentinel Growth Leaders Fund, the more aggressive of the two, seeks long-term capital appreciation through investment in a non-diversified portfolio of normally no more than 20-30 securities.

The two Funds have substantially the same investment objectives, policies and strategies as their predecessors: Bramwell Growth Fund and the Bramwell Focus Fund, which had combined assets of approximately $160 million.

Ms. Bramwell will continue to manage her team of investment professionals in New York City. According to Ms. Bramwell, “Joining Sentinel has given us the size and scale that we have been seeking. With administration of the Fund family under Sentinel’s umbrella, this move will let us focus on our core expertise – equity research and stock selection. Our shareholders also will have access to Sentinel’s broader product array and shareholder services.”

Ms. Bramwell, who began her career at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, has more than thirty years of experience in securities analysis and portfolio management spanning a number of market cycles. She has seen hundreds of companies in different industries evolve and transform themselves over this time period.

Despite the brand appeal of large capitalization growth companies, the category has been somewhat overlooked by investors over the last few years.

That trend may be about to change, according to D. Bruce Johnston, President, Sentinel Financial Services Company, distributor of the Sentinel Funds. “Financial advisors and their clients are beginning to rediscover Large Cap Growth,” Mr. Johnston said. “The time may be right to review client portfolios to ensure that this important, mainstream category is appropriately represented.”

Mr. Johnston added, “Both Sentinel Capital Growth Fund and Sentinel Growth Leaders Fund provide access to the kind of superior growth potential Elizabeth and her team pursue in their search for quality, well-managed companies.”

Sentinel Asset Management, Inc., a member of National Life Group, is headquartered in Montpelier, Vermont, with offices in New York City and San Francisco. The firm, along with its affiliates, manages over $18 billion in assets including those of National Life Group and the Sentinel Funds. The Sentinel Funds, established in 1934, now comprises sixteen portfolios including equity, fixed-income, balanced, and money market strategies.

Investment return and principal value of any of the Funds will vary with market conditions so that you may have a gain or loss when you sell shares.
